Correct?
Can you hit F12 (developer console) and click the network tab (or right click, and hit "Inspect". Then upon clicking the "Make this block" button, see what response you get from the Ajax call that is being made, by clicking the latest call and hit the"Response" tab there?
Did you also try a really really simple block, with just one "Text Box" field in it?
Not sure what is going wrong here, since I haven't had any one so far with this issue. Let me know how this worked out.
