i was wondering if block designer could help me create a block to simulate the feel of this website?

Im just referring to the way everything is either a square with image or a square with text.
The text is all centred in height no matter what display size.
I never see anything like this on C5 sites or in themes.
Thanks, Dean.

Hey many thanks for your reply.
Ive have managed to use flex-box as a method to achieve what i was after.
I only really understood half of your comments, especially when it comes to extracting the correct code out a page using the inspect function. Just a lowly designer at the end of the day :-)

Hi Dean,
What I tried to say is, that Block Designer does not do any HTML/CSS. Flex-box, as you said was your solution to go with, is nothing Block Designer does. Eventually, YOU have to apply the styling yourself in your theme/.css file(s).
Sorry if my answer was somewhat confusing, just let me know when you still have questions or would like some more explaining on specific parts.
Kind regards,
Ramon

Hi Ramon,
Really no need to apologise, Im very grateful for the help anyhow.
So what is the prime function of block designer, im not clear whether it could benefit me?

Its main purpose is to create Block Types, that are not in the core. Let's say you want a "Family Member" Block Type, with fields like:
- First Name (text)
- Last Name (text)
- Date of Birth (date picker)
- Favorite Color (color picker)
This is not in the core. Block Designer can make that. You can also build the needed HTML around it, but the CSS is something that should come with the theme or from your designer to implement. So it's basically all about creating Block Types. A core Block Type is something like "Content" or "Horizontal Rule" or "Image". You've probably used those a lot. But for specific needs like the above, you'd need to programm/develop that yourself (without Block Designer that is). So Block Designer takes that pain away.
Hope it's a bit more clear with this example? :)

Ramon

You sure can do that, since it's only a "Title" and some "WYSIWYG" area that you'll be entering in the Block. It's the CSS and HTML you need before, to make all this happen. This specific example uses javascript to make all the blocks the same hight (you can see that happening when inspecting the element, the height is set as attribute: height=12345px).
So you can copy/paste the HTML/CSS/JS needed and use that in a Block Designer block. But Block Designer will just give you the fields, you need the correct HTML etc. as told above.
Kind regards,
Ramon
