If you write blog posts or tutorials about coding it often helps to include in your pages snippets of example code. When such snippets are syntax highlighted and include line numbers, they become easy to read and understand.

This block makes adding code snippets to your Concrete CMS website easy. Simply paste in your code, pick the language and a colour scheme. Placed code can then be easily copied off a page for use.

Features

  • Uses Ace Editor for both editing and syntax highlighting
  • Supports over 100 languages
  • Over 20 color schemes
  • Font size option
  • Options to show/hide line numbers and special characters
  • Copied text doesn't include line numbers
  • Limit display to a number of rows
  • Intelligent line wrapping
  • Optional title and description fields, marked up for easy styling
  • Block keeps track of last used settings, making it easier to add multiple code blocks
  • Uses base64 encoding and decoding when saving, to help avoid Mod Security triggers (often a problem when you are pasting code into a CMS)
