yes, this add-on is completely compatible with version 8 of concrete5, including the latest version, and has been updated over time accordingly.
Another note if you do purchase it - the latest version of the add-on now supports Version 3 of Snipcart's API/Cart, but I still see that version as quite new (and arguably a little unfinished), so you may need to decide whether you try out version 3, or you stick with version 2 of the API (which is what you see in the add-on's video and screenshots). The dashboard configuration page makes this easy to swap around.
There are also a handful of features that are in version 2 of their API, but they haven't quite added them to version 3.
I've set the version 3 integration to always point at the latest Snipcart scripts, so you'll get any bugfixes and updates automatically. But again just be aware that they're still updating version 3 of their cart quite a lot, and I have seen some versions with minor bugs.
