C5 users using version 5.5.0 or greater now have access to FontSmart v1.1  which introduces new highly requested features:

 

 

  • Tag Assignments: With the new tag assignment feature, FontSmart breaks out of the editor and into your design flow. Assign any of your fonts to a valid CSS Selector / HTML tag and FontSmart does all of the heavy lifting for you. Experimenting with new fonts, and updating the look and feel of your website has never been easier!

 

  • Variants & Subsets: Unleash the full power of Google Web Fonts with support for variants (bold, italic, 700 weight), and subsets (latin, latin-ext, cyrillic, etc). International users simply need to tick a checkbox for total control of the character map on any of the 400+ Google Web Fonts. You just type the name of the font, and FontSmart will show you all of the available options.

 

 

*Due to interface upgrades, version 1.1 is not yet available for websites running Concrete5 versions prior to 5.5.0

Website Owner Features

  • Simple implementation - Simply cut and paste font stacks from the web. FontSmart will make sure it is formatted correctly, and work flawlessly.
  • Seamless Integration - With FontSmart there are no new blocks to learn because the font changes are made at the core of Concrete5. Your new fonts will be available for use wherever the in-context formatting options are displayed
  • Cross Browser Stability - Because FontSmart uses the WebFontLoader for font delivery, your new fonts will appear correctly in nearly all browsers in use.

Website Developer Features

  • Prevents font mismatch - It seems no matter what I try, if I give site editors an advanced tinymce toolbar for the addition of tables, etc. They always end up using the embedded font selection, and end up overriding base fonts with generic tinymce fonts. FontSmart allows you to control what fonts are available for your editors, reducing the possibility of mixing up fonts.
  • Seamless Integration - Not only are your font selection available on every instance of tinymce, they are also available in the Design panel of every block.
  • Font Stack Capabilities - While the Google web font functionality is the sexy part of FontSmart, the font stacking capabilities ensure that fonts have appropriate backups.
