Dashboard Design Template Incompatible with Area Layout

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi there.

I've encountered an issue where attempting to use the Dashboard style on a form inside a layout creates a problem with the columns.

I made a two column layout on a page and then placed a form in the left column, and a content block in the right column. With no custom template selected (or with either of the Bootstrap templates selected), the layout appeared properly in the published page.

However, I like the look and feel of the Dashboard template, and would prefer to use that. But when I changed the form to use the Dashboard template and published the page, the second column of the layout with the content block was moved under the form, not to the right of the form any longer.

See attached pics.

Any ideas how to resolve this?

The dahsboard-template shouldn't be used in the frontend. There will be some loading issues and the form or site could break. If you want to use a "clean" template I think you need to copy the view.php and go from there.

That said... Using layouts in forms is possible of course. But maybe you can better use the layout in your page. That way you are using "basic" layout options from Concrete itself.

Hi, Corretje.

Thanks for the heads up about not using the Dashboard template in the frontend. I've done as you suggested and copied the view.php to a new template name and I'm using that.

However, I'm still seeing the same issue. I'm putting a basic concrete5 layout on the page itself, giving it two columns, then adding the form into one of the columns. It's still forcing the second column under the first. I guess it's just a css issue that I'll have to try to figure out.
