The developer is not putting a lot of energy into formify at the moment, So you are unlikely to get a reply to this. You can, of course, modify the mailchimp feature yourself. I have never tried to do this so I cant be more helpful. You could try posting your request on slack, i have had some good help on modifying formify there in the past.
