update failure and "reserved wordds" ?

Hi.. two questions
I cant update version to 1.0.2 (from dashboard it does not seem to recognize a new version )
Most important:
when I try to insert in a block following instuctions (or one of them) I got: error>null> message,
$ip = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];
$nomehost = gethostbyaddr($ip);
$browser = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];
$referrer = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];
Prior to ver 832 it worked.. and the block containing those instructions works fine until i try to edit/save them !
can you tell me how to workout ? its important forr us to get those informations
