Suggestion for new features

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I bought it and I like it, but I'll most likely not be able to use it for any of my current projects :-|

Some suggestions that I would like:
(1) Be able to change the width of the overlay from block to block (or picture to picture).
(2) Be able to choose 'no overlay' (can be accomplished just by deleting the css for .right, so should be pretty fast to do).
(3) Be able to choose how long the animation should take to run (e.g. faster fade or slower).

It's a really nice feature that the slideshow stops when the mouse hovers the pictures.

Just some thoughts from my experience with the plugin, it's not sure that they fit into your roadmap/where you are going with this ;-)

Thanks for purchasing the Slider Overlay add-on. Some of those things should be doable with a bit of tweaking under the hood. Here's some tips:

1) Give the block an ID using the "Design" option while in edit mode (eg. "myslider1"). Then add a new class to your site's CSS file which will override the block's built-in CSS definition. For example:
#myslider1 .sliderind .right{width:250px}

This will allow you to change the width on block-by-block basis (although not a slide-by-slide basis unfortunately).

2) Yes, easy to do via the CSS file again - similar to above. Here's an example:
#myslider1 .sliderind span{width:250px}

3) I'll probably build this into a future version. But in the meantime, you can edit the js/s3Slider.js file. Simply do a find and replace for the following "timeOut/6" - and simply tinker with the number 6 to speed up or slow down the transition speed.

The above workarounds may be a bit fiddly, so I would suggest that you don't overwrite your original copy of the add-on in case you need to restore any files.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like some good ideas - should almost be included in a small FAQ :)

Is there also a way to let the overlay appear with the picture instead of sliding in afterwards?

Not at this stage, but thanks for the suggestion. I'll see if it can be incorporated into a future version.
