Getting permission denied error on upgrading from 3.0 to 3.0.1

We're trying to upgrade s3_storage package from dashboard.
But getting permission denied error on upgrading from 3.0 to 3.0.1.
We've checked and set the trash directory permissions to 777 but still getting the same error.

That's very odd, the update process is part of the core, the add-on has nothing to do with it.

I would double check who owns the folder.

You can also file a bug in the bug tracker for this.
