James,

Good morning, I did reply via email, but figured this is the best way, This website is only visible internally right now. Was hoping you could provide some guidance without having to look at the site. If you need access I can work on it.

Hi

Sorry, it’s kinda hard to tell whats happening without being able to inspect the site. I believe that index.php extensions is still the home page. Same pages should display both vidoes. Can you check your sitemap if everything is in order?

Kind regards
James

Hi James,

I have noticed an issue with the full screen video not loading in browsers other than Safari.

Is there a theme update that fixes this issue? I have had others check and they see the same. Please advise.

I saw there was a theme update, I performed it and now the site is broken. Any ideas?

I have had to restore to a backup to keep them up.

Hey, I see the video is working on your site now. I've had the same issue - still unresolved - can you share how you got yours to work?

I have not done anything to it yet pending a complete rehab of the site with a fresh install and retheme to the latest version.

It still works in Safari but not in Chrome.

Last time I attempted an update of the addons and the theme it broke the site. So I had to step back and punt with the backup.

it appeared to work perfectly for me on Chrome - or is this not the video you want to work on the home page - just your backup?

The weird thing is, I have the same issue with a site, where the video won't load/run on the first load. But if I click the logo to refresh the page, then it works. I had stepped away from it for a couple of months until last night when someone noticed it. So, I get back to working on it and it works the first time, on Chrome. It's like something on Chrome changed to allow it to work, though it's only a theory. And yours is working on Chrome for me as well. Baffled.

There should be video looping at the top of the homepage when viewing on a desktop. I will attach a Safari view for me and a Chrome view for me.

Chrome version I have is:
Version 73.0.3683.86 (Official Build) (64-bit)

It just quit working one day in Chrome and I was contacted by the client. I have reinstalled Chrome, clear cache etc. Still same result.

How is it that you can see it in Chrome and I can not? Weird!

I see it in Safari and Firefox.

MacBook Pro here. Something strange... In Chrome, same version you have.... if I refresh/reload the page a few times... it will show. Reload the page again, goes away. Takes about 4-5 page refreshes and it shows up.

Could it be a file size/timeout issue?

I don't think it is filesize. I've spent hours and hours on this. I have another site using this same Framework theme and I've never had this issue with it, and it is two years older. I've even tested the video used on my other site on this one and it behaved the same - won't load on the first load, but I can refresh once and it works from then on.

Also, it always works while in edit mode. Does yours work fine while in edit mode?

Yes, always works fine in edit mode. Video shows and loops.

I have ruled out it being isolated to just me though. Other are experiencing the issue when viewing the site as well.

Yes, I can confirm, it's not just you.
It's an elusive bug. I can't tell you why, but it suddenly started working on Chrome on my mac now, consistently, but still not working on my PC and any other computer I try it on using Chrome. I'll keep looking and post a resolution when and if I find one.

the problem is most likely the video format. mp4 is glitchy but webM format seems to work every time I load my site in chrome.
