error on update

I know this is a free theme, but I tried to update to 8.31 (from 8.21) and now all I get is this error message:
An exception occurred while executing 'UPDATE btSearch SET postTo_cID = NULL WHERE postTo_cID IS NOT NULL AND IFNULL(postTo_cID + 0, 0) < 1': SQLSTATE[22007]: Invalid datetime format: 1292 Truncated incorrect DOUBLE value: ''
I had install issues initially and was provided with a different xml file for the theme. Wondering if that might be the cause or if this is a concrete5 issue.
