File-manager title/description

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi, is it possible to use the title /description from the file-manager?
Isn't it better to use the system-feature instead of have it double ?

Best regards

Most people don't use the "title" property of files, and since C5 defaults this to the filename when first uploaded, some people were annoyed that they had to go in and delete them all the time. But there's a setting to make the titles and descriptions default to the file manager properties. Add the following line to your config/site.php file:
define('DELUXE_IMAGE_GALLERY_DEFAULT_TITLES', true);

It's not the same as keeping them in line (after the defaults are set, changing things in one place won't reflect in the other), but hopefully it's close enough.

Hey Jordan,

when I import the images (I know its for a gallery), i put the description on it ;-)
I tried to use your code but it has no affect. Is there a possibility to get the image description from the images?

If you're using the latest version of the addon, then putting the above code into your config/site.php file should be bringing up titles and descriptions from the file properties (but *only* for the first time a file set is added to the gallery -- it won't bring in those properties after the gallery block has initially been saved to the page).

Does this explain the situation better? Or did you do all of that and it's still not working?
