Cannot update or uninstall

Hi
There is a problem when trying to update or uninstall the Google Plus One package in the latest version of concrete5, v5.6.
When I try updating the package I get a message "...there was an error ..." after which I can't add any blocks. I get the following errors in the modal box instead of a list of blocks:
Warning: require_once(/home/sites/photoboffin.co.uk/public_html/packages/google_plus_one/blocks/google_plus_one/controller.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/sites/photoboffin.co.uk/public_html/updates/concrete5.6.0.2/concrete/core/libraries/loader.php on line 205
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/sites/photoboffin.co.uk/public_html/packages/google_plus_one/blocks/google_plus_one/controller.php' (include_path='/home/sites/photoboffin.co.uk/public_html/libraries/3rdparty:/home/sites/photoboffin.co.uk/public_html/updates/concrete5.6.0.2/concrete/libraries/3rdparty:.:/usr/share/pear5') in /home/sites/photoboffin.co.uk/public_html/updates/concrete5.6.0.2/concrete/core/libraries/loader.php on line 205
If I try to uninstall it, I get an error message referring to something in the database.
I've downloaded, unzipped and added the package again, and now everything is working.
This package hasn't updated properly for months. You get a number "1" where the "package updated successfully" message usually appears. Nothing untoward happened whilst running 5.5.2.1; it's only after updating to v5.6 that I have problems.
Regards
Pete

Hi
I have sent all the information regarding the issue, in great detail, in a private message to the developer - all months ago - and I haven't heard anything back.
I've just had to leave mine installed but not updated for now. I have updated Concrete5 to 5.6.02 successfully though.

Thanks for the reply and that tidbit Peter. I thought this thread would be dead by now.
Guess my next step will try the 5.6.0.2 core swap as suggested elsewhere. Certainly getting into this deep for someone with no previous programming or sitebuild experience!
Cheers

any further action on this matter?
