Unintended spam during import

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Thought I'd mention that if you're performing an import of users who will be added to paid groups in conjunction with Lerteco Membership Commerce, be aware that if you have "Send email with user info when account is auto-created" checked in the Membership Commerce configuration, that email will get sent to every imported member with an active account.

IMO this should not happen on import (these users have already registered, possibly in the distant past), or at the very least there should be a very prominent warning to turn the email option off before doing the import. If you import 100s or 1000s of users you could get your site blacklisted.

Hi.

Yes, that's a valid concern. I know that others have written in asking how to turn it off and been able to.

Personally, I think there's a valid reason to send out that email (if, for example, things were handled in the past and receipts were never sent out).

Just to clarify:

1. I assume you mean the receipt email and not the user creation email (and thus the " Send email with receipt after each purchase" option). It shouldn't be sending the user creation email.

2. Where would you expect to see this warning? On the membership config? During import?

I think it is the receipt email - the content is from packages/lerteco_membership/mail/membership_invoice.php.

I would put the warning message in big red letters on the first step of the import process where you upload the CSV. It may be useful in some cases but it is not obvious that this would happen.
