In theory there's no limit but your server will have a processing timeout
of some sort to prevent scripts running forever, so if that's set to five
minutes, say, and you can 'post' 20 emails a second you'd have a practical
limit of around 6,000 emails before the server killed the script. Usually
emails will go into a delivery queue of some sort so I'd hope you'd be able
to set up more than 20 per second with ease.

During this time, though emails successfully handed off to delivery will be
on their way so it would be bad to retry/refresh, etc.
