Google duplicate content

Permalink Browser Info Environment
It's not good for your ranking in google. Yo will get removed
from google's index if you have multiple sites, pointing to the same content. Than you have duplicate content.
Better have a redirect to the main site 301! (ServerAlias and some rewrite rules!)

For some reason we're not getting any email reminders of these posts why this is the first time I see this.

This is not intended for that case. I'm not sure on which purpose people are using this but this is what it was created for:
Developing a site you might have different URLs for your site:
http://localhost/new_site
http://demo.yoursite.com/new_site...
http://beta.newsite.com

etc.

In that case, I might also have e.g. "alpha.newsite.com" pointing at the same server than beta.newsite.com and also to serve the same directory. In this case I would probably want to FORCE the site to beta.newsite.com but still allow my other locations (localhost, demo.yoursite.com) to work with the SAME CONFIGURATION file.

In that case if I would completely comment out BASE_URL from the config/site.php it would allow also alpha.newsite.com to work which is not wanted.

Also, in the documentation it has been clearly stated: "...for SEO purposes it is suggested to use EITHERhttp://www.site.com OR site.com" which basically means that you SHOULD NOT use them both. This add-on also allows that case to be redirected tohttp://www.site.com and still having also the other locations (localhost/demo.site.com) available on other servers.
