To use facebook messenger chat you must have a facebook page for you business. If you do not have one already you should first set one up, details of how to do this are here: View article

Assuming that is in place then follow the guidance below.

1. Navigate to your Facebook page and go to 'Settings' Then look for 'Messaging'

2. Look for the 'Add Messenger to your website' then click 'Get started'.

A pop up window will open.

Do the following

• Click Set up your Chat plugin click the set up button to the right
• Under Pick a setup method chooose 'standard'
• Follow the steps on the pop up that opens. Make sure you add yoour websites domain. Ie mine was https://richmade.co.uk yours will be your websites domain name
• When it comes to the copy code step look in the code in generates and you will see the id number you need to copy for your page. You only need to copy the id number but you will need to click copy code and then finish to close the pop and apply the settings. Once you have done this click the 'Publish' button at the bottom of the screen.

Facebook chat is now enabled for your business page so you just need the page id code. Reminder on where to get this is below. Also important: Make sure you add any domain names you need the widget to show on.

Once you have the id number for your page and you have published the widget you can paste the facebook id number into the widget field on the blocks edit mode in concrete. Using the actual messenger block is as simple as dragging in and keying in the id number and picking a color.

Handy tips:

• This block is best utilsed by dragging into a global area. that way you only need to do this once on your whole site.
• You should only have one instance of it per page
