Problems with Custom File Location

Permalink Browser Info Environment
HI,

Hoping you can help me.

We are having an issue with Simple Gallery and using a custom file location. We have uploaded a bunch of images, moved them to a folder (at the same level as public_html) using the Storage Location functionality in Systems and Settings. Then created a Set of those images and tried to display those images in a gallery. Simple Gallery seems to be finding the full size image and will display fine but it's not finding the thumbnail to display on the page, only the file name in text.

I can set up a page to show you the issue, if it helps.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Duncan

Sure, setup site.
Maybe there is something wrong with file/folder permissions on server?
I have just tested latest simple gallery on c5.9.0 and it works fine with custom location.

Hi Parasek,

Many thanks for the speedy reply!

I've set up a page here:http://rhyc.co.uk/sandpit

The page has a Simple Gallery block at the top, with all files in the default file location, and a Simple Gallery block with file in the custom location at the bottom, for comparison.

I've checked permissions in the custom location and all folders are set to 755, files are 644.

I have cleared the cache, both through the dashboard and manually via FTP.
I've also cleared the thumbnail cache in the custom folder. When I view the sandpit page, I can see that files are being writeen to this folder.
I've run the Automated Job 'Fill thumbnal database table'.
I've cleared the tmp folder in /files

I will set up a user account and PM you the details, if that's OK. If you need FTP access, or any more info, let me know?

I know how good this block is and would love to get to the bottom of this because we use this gallery on many site, as well as Grand Gallery on a few.

Many thanks.

Cheers,

Duncan
