No Header wanted
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi there
Love the theme so much that I'm combining four sites into one using Modena.
My problem is that one of the sites is an online music station. The music on demand page must have no other scripts working ( although scripts in the footer should be OK ).
I have been trying to get no header on a page by creating a noheader slug page and adapting the block_header_php by inserting a noheader line in front of the globalheader.
However, nothing works.
Could you advise a fix for no header on a page ?
Many thanks if you can.
Terry

Thank you David.
Hi Terry,
After having a more detailed look at this, it looks like it won't be possible I'm afraid, Modena does not use any scripts in the header at all, however, Concrete5 does and we don't get a say in that, as they are crucial for Concrete5 to run, without those scripts running in the header the Concrete5 edit bar will not function and you won't be able to add blocks etc, basically, everything runs off of those js files.
If you can give me a few more details about what exactly isn't working, or maybe a link to the page so I can see whats going on, I might be able to suggest a solution or workaround, as it stands I don't think a headless page will work out for you.
Best regards

Hi David
I've attached 3 screenshots which show the problem where the bottom part of the text is missing and if clicked it always returns to top of page.
I've tried several fonts
I've tried different pagetypes
I've tried layouts, no layouts
I've tried fiddling with source but no joy.
Previously, with a different theme I was able to get this to work if header was plain.

Hi David
I dropped the scripts onto another theme ( Triada ) page and everything works perfectly. See screenshot.

Hi Terry,
Thanks for the screenshots. Would it be possible for you to set me up an admin account on your site? I can log in and take a look, it's difficult for me to properly diagnose without seeing the page, I can then check the console and see what is conflicting with the script.
If that's not possible, could you make the page live?
If that's ok please PM me the login details, please don't post them here as this page is publicly viewable.

Hi Terry,
I have had an extensive look at both sites and I can see what is happening now, the widget located athttp://tjbphoto.co.uk/home/about-us/music-demand... is located much closer to the top of the page, so the page does not jump when checking a box and clicking "Play selected music files" as its already at the top of the page. If you scroll the page so that only "soft rock" is under the top of your browser, check that box and click on "Play selected music files" and it does jump in exactly the same way as the Modena based site. This is the default behaviour of an anchor link, if you wish to disable this behaviour you will need to contact the widget producer and get them to add this to their Javascript as its called in from an external source I cannot affect it on your site.
I have corrected the CSS for you so now the links are not cut off at the bottom, I hope this helps a little.

Hi Terry,
I found that the CSS was being overridden by a style in Modena so I just added a new rule in the Custom CSS section in the design options, seems to have done the trick.
I am glad you have found a workaround if you have any further issues/questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards

Thanks a lot for your purchase and glad to hear you are enjoying using Modena.
I can send you a headerless page template with some instructions for installing it if you would like?
Best regards
David
