Image Slider / Selection of Thumbnail SIze and Quality

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Dear team,

I just updated the replica pro theme to 2.2.0. (previously 2.1.2)

My exisiting image-slider in the header (full width) has changed its behavior.
Previously my image was of high quality, especially at a large screen. Now the image looks blured, and is not display and very quality anymore.

When I look at the actually selected thumbnail, it now chooses "xnt_large" as maximum, which is not enough.

Interesting side effect - I had to upload my image again via file manager and to reenter it in the image-slider. The original image does not have any thumbnails any more, and shows an error message. (also rescan does not help).

Please adivse.

Many thanks & best regards,
Christian

Hi Christian,

We didn't make any changes related to Image Slider or thumbnails generation in the recent version (2.2.0).

We couldn't reproduce the issue, if it is possible, please attach your image so we can test with it, if not can you give us its original resolutions?

Kind regards,

Dear Xanweb Support,

I attached the original picture, as well as the thumbnail version it selects as maximum. I also tried it now again with a larger version of the picture (5 MB PNG). Still the selected maximum thumbnail-size does not change. ("xnt_large" as maximum)

I also added a PDF with the generated thumbnail versions

Hope this helps to identify the issue.

Question: Is there a setting to configure which thumbnail is actually selected and displayed? The behavior I see is, that it selects a "smaller" thumbnail and scales it >125% on the screen. This does not look very good.

Kind regards,
Christian

Dear Christian,

For thumbnails size, you can change them under /dashboard/system/files/thumbnails . Just make sure to re-upload the image as the ConcreteCMS doesn't update existent thumbnails.

For your last question, you can use our FREE Light Slider that supports thumbnails configuration per device.

https://marketplace.concretecms.com/marketplace/addons/light-slider...

Hope that helps,

Dear Hamed,

thank you very much for your response and your hint on the Lite Slider.

I checked it out. It is definitely an interesting option.

Ticket can be successfully closed from my perspective.

Best regards,
Christian
