Urban appears in Dashboard but won't load on site

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi,

I just bought & installed the wonderful Urban theme and installed it. I activated it via the dashboard and was able to customise it. But having saved the new colours I go back to the website and it remains on the default theme.

I had a look in the usual place ( httpdocs/concrete/themes) but Urban isn't there. All the others are (core, dark_chocolate, dashboard, default, greek_yoghourt & greensalad) and they all load if selected so I can't figure out why Urban won't load. Do new themes get hidden somewhere else these days - I looked in Packages at both levels but nothing there? I tried resetting it and also clearing the cache but still no joy.

I'm running the current version of C5 on a Plesk Apache system but because of all the other older sites on the server I have to stick with PHP 5.2.1 so do you think this is causing the problem?

Thanks & best wishes,
Nick

I slept on this problem and came up with the solution. I changed the permissions for the various httpdocs folders to allow everything including write, then refreshed the browser and the new theme kicked in :)

Hi Nick,

Sorry for the slightly belated response, working on UK time here - anyway, glad to hear you are all sorted :-)

Cheers

Hi Andy,

Many thanks! Hey how amazing to see you are in Cheshire!! I'm just down the road in Whitchurch Shrops, but work in Shropshire time which completely ignores conventional working hours :)

Tis theme is great - dead easy to customise and very flexible so welldone!

Cheers,
Nick

Nick,

Oh right, didn't even see you are from Shrops sorry - just so used to dealing with people state-side.

Good to hear you are enjoying the theme, would be great to see what you end up doing with it.

Had a little look at your stamp site, like what you have done, see you are using our 'Cookies Disclosure' too ;-)

Cheers

Andy,

Yeah, love the cookies disclosure you made - so simple and quick!

The client supplied the layout for the website design which matches their literature which they produce in-house. So Unfortunately this particular website is not going to win any design awards!! But Urban allows me to fulfil my brief with utter precision...

The stamp site is the first C5 one I did so good practice - I based it on Slate from Chris Seymour (C5Mix) - he's another great guy and so helpful throughout. Its a good community here :)

Cheers,

Nick

Nick,

It is often the way that you become restricted based on a clients brief, but that is the nature of the beast I suppose - always good to have a decent jumping off point though with a pre-buit framework/theme.

Pretty good job for your first attempt (Stamp Site), I noticed it was based on 'Slate', that is certainly a popular theme on C5. The community is pretty good, and I have spoken to quite a few great people on here myself, I think that is the beauty of C5, everyone helps each other out.

Cheers

Andy
