Menus and Flash Player

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I have a menu to the left of a Flash video and my menu flyouts go behind the video on PC browsers. I haven't had the problem on any of the browsers on my Mac, but on a PC, IE8 and Firefox 3.6, the flyouts are behind the video. I've tried changing the wmode to transparent and even gave the ccm-flash-video css a defined z-index in the view.php file, but it still doesn't help.

Can anyone help here?

By default, Flash will stack over HTML elements as an overlay, similar to video in most applications. If you set wmode to opaque, it will stack with other HTML elements. Sometimes the browser does not implement this properly.

I believe there is a custom template included with the addon which will set the wmode to opaque. Have you tried that yet? Make sure this is working, then the next step, if necessary, is z-ordering. If it doesn't work to push the menu forward, you can try to push the video backward

I've set it to the wmode opaque custom template. In Chrome and Safari the video turns into a white box, but in IE8, it doesn't show up at all.
