Filtering

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi There,

I hope you can help...

I must be missing something here, I'm trying to set up filtering based on topics but I can't seem to get it working. I've created a Topic, added sub topics to the tree and saved this. I've gone through every page required and assigned the relevant topic attribute and then ticked the sub topic. All of this done as per the instructions in the block when choosing 'Display Gallery Tags but use Topics instead'.

The gallery show all thumbnails but no filtering and no tags regardless of any settings changes that I make and I'm pulling my hair out here!

Im trying to achieve a page such as your Page List template in your examples (https://c5center.com/add-ons/grand-gallery/demos/templates/page-list) with filter tags above the gallery.

I hope all of that makes sense! Glad to give you access to the dev site if you want to take a look. The page that I have at the moment is at:https://hereisyoursite.co.uk/duncan/index.php/services....

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Duncan

Hi,

change block template to "masonry". Default template is kind of "legacy template" (to provide backward compatibility), so it's missing some new features (like tags).

Masonry is now "preferred" template with most options, default template is mostly not changed for backward compatibility (choose masonry template, set "Thumbnail width", "Thumbnail height", "Thumbnail crop" and "Masonry random heights" to 100% to mimic default template)

Hi,

I tried that but no luck, I'm sorry to say.

This is the first time that I have used Topics and so I'm wondering if I've done something wrong there but I have been over and over the instructions, added attributes and associated the page with the Topic attribute and tick the correct topic for each page so I don't know where I could have gone wrong. All pages also have Tags Attribute to and I've used the same labels as the Topics thinking that I could maybe swap between the two but I can't get either to work.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Duncan

And to double-check, have you done this:

Left click your block in edit mode -> select Design & Custom Template -> Click cog icon -> select "Masonry" in "Custom Template".

Now, when editing block -> "Settings" tab -> leave "Basic Template (only for Custom Templates)" empty.

You are a genius!

That has fixed the problem, really sorry for the hassle and the panic!

Thank you for the excellent support, I'll go and review the add on for you now :)

Cheers,

Duncan
