Hi,
First of all I'm really glad you have created this module!
I have to say that new C5 interface is way too fancy and way too complicated (I also hate wasting the space).
My suggestions:
1) Please try to stick to the traditional view as close as possible (Traditional Dashboard should mean traditional, not compilation of both interfaces)
2) Eliminate sub-links in left side menu
3) Add tabs for sub-links on the right side - the same way as it was in old C5 UI (main links on the left, sub-links in the content section as tabs at the top)
5) Combine sub-sub-lins into one sub-content (e.g. System & Setting -> Basics with all sub-sub-content inside one page)
6) Make paddings much smaller inside dashboard content
7) Enable traditional background (not blue colour when background is disabled)
8) Remove drop-down, "?", and close buttons etc. from dashboard content

Thank you for your solid suggestions!
While I really much appreciate the time you took to write them, we really actually like the work that the core team is doing, so we don't want to be offering a total alternative to the new dashboard UI, we actually like it.
What this add-on is supposed to do is to bring the users of the old UI into the new UI so make it more comfortable to them at the first stage. And when they get used to it, id doesn't matter anymore e.g. if the left-side menu is removed. This is what I think we explain in this add-on's description.
So, I don't see us re-thinking the whole UI. It's way much easier to handle with all the UI stuff while keeping it consistent with the core team than creating a totally new solution. For a completely different solution, the maintenance is really also a bigger job which would make the price tag bigger. And we just want to offer an affordable mid-time integration tool for users who have used the old dashboard UI.
I think there are also a couple of other alternatives on their way in the marketplace queue (PRB), so soon you'll have more options to choose from!
