Tags less pretty in 5.5.1

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi there...I am not sure if this is an issue with this theme or not, but I suspect it is?

Before the update to 5.5.1 the tags showed with a nice shaded oval around them in blog postings / tag block.

After setting up a brand new site (not updating), the tags are just text. See before and after photos attached to this post to see what I mean. Is that something to do with the theme, or something else?

Thanks for the great theme!

This actually has to do with Concrete5 and not with the theme.
The problem is that you have to set up that tags as links (searchable). They way you have it currently set up is that the tags themselves aren't initiating a search query for that particular tag.
(that's a little confusing so check out the attached images)

Thanks! I was able to figure out the problem you pointed out (which I didn't realize I was having) that the links did not point to anywhere....returning a "search not found" type of error.

I fixed that problem by: Editing "tags" block to send tags to search results page (arbitrary page). Needed, though, to add a "search" block to that page (set to everywhere on the site) in order to "receive" those search results.

But, my original problem remains...I would like the Tags (as shown in the Tag Block) to look "pretty". In the files that I attached, one version has this nice shaded oval around all of the tags, and on the new version the tags are just normal (boring) text. I am not sure where to look to get those nice ovals back, though all other functionality is working just fine. This is on 5.5.1 if that makes any difference.

Try clearing your site's cache and see what that does.

If the problem still exists then use Firebug to view the code around your tags to see if your block is producing links or not.
What I mean is that if you have the tags block set up to return search results then your code should produce and 'a href' for the tag
(see nice.png)
But it you remove the 'a href' then you get the ugly style. (for the difference see ugly.png here you can see the first tag is without style and the second is with it) This totally has to do with the block and how you have it set up and not with the theme

Hmmm...I compare my code on the older/working site and the newer/non-working site (working meaning "pretty links or not") and both are the same. I think I will bring this up in the main forum as I am getting everything working as they should (all links working) except in the latest install, no pretty tags.

Thanks for the help!

Just to do a bit of roundtripping for this issue...I asked it in the main C5 forums and the answer seems to be that for 5.5.1 the tags are not preformatted, so that (probably) one can format them more easily if they desire to. Copying some of the settings from 5.4.2.2 essentially acts like a styling hint for what to put in the settings for 5.5.1 Here is the link to the post:
